When cancer is misdiagnosed and treatment is delayed, the consequences for the patient are usually very serious, often life-changing and sometimes fatal.
Treatment options may be narrowed, more extensive treatments may be required such as surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy and for some, those more invasive or intensive treatments themselves can leave irreversible side-effects. For these reasons, the obligations on healthcare providers to listen to you, perform or request the appropriate diagnostic tests and make a timely diagnosis are great.
If you believe that a healthcare provider has failed to meet those obligations and you wish to seek an independent review of that care or seek legal advice, please contact us.
